About Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya

MNAC occupies the Palau Nacional, built for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition. The dome rises above the Magic Fountain and frames a sweeping panorama back over the city.

Its collections cover Catalan and European art from the Romanesque through the twentieth century, and it holds the world's most important group of Romanesque mural paintings, transferred wall by wall from churches in the Pyrenees.
