About MOA Museum of Art
Founded in 1982 by Mokichi Okada, the MOA holds a major collection of Japanese and East Asian art including three National Treasures and over sixty Important Cultural Properties.
The galleries reopened in 2017 following a refurbishment by photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto and architect Tomoyuki Sakakida that emphasises rough plaster, dim light, and slow looking.
