About MUCEM — Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations
Designed by Rudy Ricciotti, MUCEM opened in 2013 in a cube wrapped with a delicate concrete lattice that filters Mediterranean light. A footbridge links it to the seventeenth-century Fort Saint-Jean.
Permanent and rotating exhibitions explore the shared heritage of Europe and the Mediterranean — from agriculture and trade to migration and contemporary art.
